Anacortes Brewery – May 2018

New Releases for May:

French Wit (4.8% ABV / 15 IBU) – Our take on a Belgian Wit uses a French yeast strain and unmalted wheat to provide a classic hazy, white apperanace appearance. Notes of vanilla and honey compliment a soft, rounded mouthfeel. Coriander and bitter orange peel added to the boil offer a pleasant sweetness that ends in a refrehing, crisp finish.

Barrel Aged Brett (5.6 ABV / 30 IBU) – Ales from two different barrels are blended together to make this lightly tart beer. It’s medium amber in color with notes of strawberry jam and fruit leather while flavors reminiscent of grape and berries finish dry and crisp.

Fidlago Light (ABV 3.5% / IBU 15) – The lightest beer in our catalog is named for our destination island. Straw-colored and lightly hopped, this session beer is designed for light beer drinkers.

Mai Oh Maibock (ABV 6.5% / IBU 30) – Named in honor of Mariners announcer Dave Niehaus’ classic exclamation. This golden seasonal version of the classic bock style is malty with a delicate hop character from Perle & noble varieties

Saison with Debittered Leaf Citra (ABV 5.4%) A refreshing Saison to bring us into Spring! Our version is hopped with a specialty blend of Palisade, Simcoe, Lorel and Mosaic and was brewed by members of the Pink Boots Society for International Women’s Day. Dry hopping with Citra debittered leaf brings a bright, fruity tang to this uplifting beer.

Valley Brown Ale (ABV 4.5% / IBU 20) The official beer of the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival: This easy drinking, medium-bodied seasonal is brown with an apricot hue and a light roasty aroma that melts into a clean malty flavor. With malt grown in the same fields as Skagit Valley’s tulips, Alba, Brown, Crystal, Vienna, Chocolate and Premium two row bring forth a blossoming malt flavor with roasted caramel notes. Perle, Cascade, Mt Hood provide a delicate hop character which softens into a light, velvety finish.

Deception Pass Pale Ale (ABV 5.4% / IBU 40) Our all new Pale Ale is named for the most visited park in Washington State and features 100% locally produced Skagit Valley malt. This refreshing, sessionable ale is deep golden in color with aromas of apricot, pine and biscuit finishing with notes of black tea from dry hopping with Cascade. Enjoy our take on an old favorite.

New Anacortes Brewery Releases 2018

Anacortes Brewery has 4 new releases for you to enjoy this winter!

Klosterbier (ABV 5.3% / IBU 35)   Smooth, dark lager originally brewed at the Anacortes Brewery under the guidance of the visiting brewmaster of The Kalt Loch Brewery in Bavaria. Inspired by a dark lager brewed for the Engelberg Monastery. Delicately hopped with Perle hops, this beer has become a local favorite.

Dubbel Vision (ABV 7.8% / IBU 25)   Our traditional Belgian-style Dubbel is malt forward and brewed with European Black Prinz malt, brown sugar and honey. Starting with aroma and flavor notes of ripe banana, this dark beer then finishes with a pleasant spicy sweetness and just a touch of alcohol warmth that hints at it’s 7.8% ABV.

Trippel Vision (ABV 9.99% / IBU 6) Our Belgian Trippel adheres to traditional guidelines with it’s pale straw color from mostly pilsner malt and it’s high alcohol content. The aromas and flavors of peach nectar blend with characteristic Belgian yeast spiciness to make your lips sing!

Peppercorn Saison (ABV 4.6% / IBU 15)   While the most quaffable of our Belgian beers at 4.6% ABV, this guy still packs a punch. We add four different types of peppercorns (black, green, pink and white) to give our traditional Saison a savory flavor that compliments it’s dry finish.
